THE CATHOLIC CHILD CARE EXPERIENCE

We are please to welcome your interest in our child care programs. Continuing in the tradition of Catholic Education which began at our school in 1965, we will offer child care that is based on gospel values. Our school motto is Love is . . . St. Joseph’s.
Our child care programs will be a philosophical extension of the school, and will embrace the following philosophy:
• Each child is a unique gift from God, and it is our role to nurture their individual style and provide opportunities that will enhance their creativity, ability to problem solve and make choices.
• Children learn through play and interaction with peers and adults. Our program sat St. Joseph’s are committed to providing children with a safe and enriching environment that encourages a positive self image and personal growth.
• We believe in enriching each child’s development in terms of the whole child (spiritual, physical, intellectual, language, emotional and social).

OUR PROGRAMS
Our programs reflect the licensing standards set by the province of British Columbia, and is enhanced by the inclusion of our Catholic philosophy and access to the school and some of its facilities.

Children will experience:
1. Maximum child/educator ratio 1:10.
2. Developmentally appropriate toys, puzzles, books, dramatic play, art center, science discoveries, as well as circle time and theme related activities.
3. Free play opportunities allowing children to experience choices and creativity.
4. Support in the development of social skills, consideration for the rights and feelings of others, sharing and cooperation.

OUR STAFF
Our Child Care staff at the Child Care Centre consists of a Child Care Program manager with a degree in Child and Youth Care, and two licensed early childhood educators (ECE’s). Other early childhood educators are trained in early childhood development, and together the staff provides a safe, dynamic, fun, and educational program.

OUR FACILITY
Our facility boasts over 1,200 square feet of play and learning space. Children have access to an outdoor play space.
Children will experience an art center, science area, dramatic play area, quiet area, developmentally appropriate toys and more.

As child care programs are based in an elementary school setting, children will have access to the following:
• library
• gymnasium (for After School Care)
• Child Care Centre computer

PROGRAM HOURS AND FEES
(fees subject to change)
There will be 2 Preschool classes run per day.
• Class #1: 8:40 – 11:00 AM
• Class #2: 12:30 – 2:50 PM

        FEES:
          The cost will be $50.00 a month for 1 day a week as follows:
                • 1 day/week is $50.00/month
                • 2 days/week is $100.00/month
                • 3 days/week is $150.00/month
                • 4 days/week is $200.00/month
                • 5 days/week is $250.00/month
